I think we need to have more GQBs downtown since we have been going up north quite a bit. An area up north and an area downtown alternating each month would be ideal.

And then we can all afterparty at Matt and Devin’s, right? teehee. :) I really dig the fact that y’all continue to seek out new venues, wherever they’re located. Tost was fun. I look forward to joining y’all again soon. Thank you Joe!

The last location although fun, was very cramped. I enjoy most of the locations north of downtown (doesnt have to be stone oak area), but they’re more ideal for parking. BTW theres a great new place called the Bubble Room near Wild Fish.. ITs pretty nice.. just sayin.

On a scale of 1-10, where Long Bar was a 10 and Octagon Bar was a 2, I would rate this one a 7. The service was adequate, although it was a little crowded. And they did try to accommodate us. I’m cool with downtown bars as long as they’re not hotel bars, but more along the lines of Zinc.

I will try to invade a downtown bar next month, but it’s kind of hard to find a downtown bar that we haven’t invaded already. If you think of any, let me know. Thank you guys for the feedback!

I agree that Tost was a little bit too small for our group. I will try to find bigger bars for us in the future.

@Lloyd, after our experience at Octagon (Indigo Hotel), we won’t invade anymore hotels unless the bar is completely seperate from the hotel.

I think the purpose of invading a bar, to bring them large revenue, and establish the place as gay friendly from the owners behalf, is great and working! going to some of these places where the incasion has taken place has certainly got the word out that it’s a cool bar, and “friendly”. I love the venues all over town, I think it would be more enticing to bar owners if we covered all of SA. Great job Joe! Thanks for taking the inititive to run this great group!

Just wanted to say thanks for doing this, I know a lot of people complain; but for me each GQB is a fun night out with our friends, even with the crowds and sometimes slow bar service…I think they always under estimate the drinking power of gays!

I know it’s a very straight bar but the new Yard House at LA Cantera is a really big venue and has a great menu, and obviously a great beer selection.

The bar albeit small was nice, bar was not big enough to handle the amount of drinks ordered therefore there was a line, we may want to inform them how much everyone drinks. Lovedthat I could get a cucumber martini . . . Something I had never had before.
